Spofford Pond School has just been designated as one of 118 schools in the nation to receive NAMM's 2016 "SupportMusic Merit Award." This award is given to schools with strong and supportive administration, staff, parent and community involvement who enable their music programs to flourish. Congratulations to everyone! The 6th Grade Concert & Jazz Bands performed brilliantly at the Massachusetts State House on March 17th. We'd like to thank State Senator Bruce Tarr and Representative Lenny Mirra for inviting us to play and giving us an educational and entertaining personal tour of the Senate and House chambers. 6th Grade Concert & Jazz Bands will perform at the Massachusetts State House on Thursday, March 17th3/8/2016 On Thursday, March 17th, members of the 6th Grade Concert & Jazz Bands will meet at Spofford at 6:50am and travel by bus to Boston to tour and perform at the historic Massachusetts State House. Upon our arrival, Senator Bruce Tarr and State Senator Lenny Mirra will lead the group in a personalized and interactive tour of the Senate and House of Representatives chambers. Following the tour, the bands will perform a 45 minute concert at the base of the Grand Staircase from 10:30 -11:15am. After performing, the students will head to Fuddruckers in Saugus for a well deserved lunch. They will return to Spofford at about 2:00pm.
